I'm trying to update the standard cost price for a purchased item, but I get the message "Economic stock alredy present".
Why does it happen?? How can I solve it?

I have had this problem when using the zoom from item master to update cost price. But it works ok if you run update cost prices by starting the session directly.

That's standard functionality. The ability to zoom from Maintain Item Master session to Update Standard Cost is restricted to purchased items that do not yet have a standard cost and have not yet had any inventory. After that, you must update from one of the main sessions.
The intent was to make it easy to enter a new item that could "immediately" be used in PUR, INV, SFC, etc. The assumption is that you have entered an appropriate default purchase price in the item master. (And that your cost price calculation priority will use it!)

Oops!
I wrote: ...your cost price calculation priority...
I should have worded that more carefully and said "...your Purchase Price Priority in the Cost Price Calculation Code"
