In the Maintain Employees session tccom0101m000 on Form 2 there is a field Hours by Day. What is this used for? Field help indicates the obvious, but is it considered in any of the other logistical modules for planning or capacity?

We currently have ours set to zero, but our Payroll department would like to utilize the field and I want to ensure there are no suprises if we begin to use it.

May be this field is just used to propose default value for Hours Accounting processing or capacity planning.

To get more information where this field is used, you can ask your tool developer to search for it in which script/dll it is used. Or to be safe; you can add a new field for your purpose.

It gives the detail of how many hours he will be working in a day, is he works for 8hrs shift or 9hrs shift etc, this will be usefull in planning.

This feild in Employees session is used only in the tp projects module. In Baan 4 this feild can be accessed only if the Baan Project module is implemented. When you book more hours than given in this feild on a day for a projects hours then a warning message will be given.

I don't think the planning module uses this feild.
