Could anybody help on the following problem?

Example

BOM: A(1pcs)=B(60pcs)+C(10pcs) B(1pcs)=E(10pcs)+D(10pcs)

Item-A routing operation: a1

Item-B routing operation: b1

A needs 10 pcs

Requirements:

1. a1 starts when 60 pcs of B was finished (not 600 pcs).

2. In MRP planned orders result, the planned start date of production of item A should be equal to(or near) the planned finished date of 60pcs of B, not 600 pcs of B.

How to set up in Baan (6.1) to fullfil those requirements?

The problem with MRP is that it tends to move things in batches, so btach of all 600 wil first done and then it will be moved to next. You can so operation overlapping, but that is restircted with in same item. I think in order to resolve the this, you may want to figure out effective time of getting item A. Starting of item A before full compltetion of production order B will ultimately result in reduction in mfg lead time.

Can production process for item B is absorbed in item A? So you dont need to report Item B separately.

Thank you for your reply. What do you mean by"I think in order to resolve the this, you may want to figure out effective time of getting item A. Starting of item A before full compltetion of production order B will ultimately result in reduction in mfg lead time." How to do it?!

No, item B is a semi-finish goods. There must be another production order for it.

Hi,

I don't know much about baan 6 , but to map this requirement you can use "transfer batch less than production batch" option in routing and can be defined in either % or quantity based on the parameter set in "Routing parameters".

I think the answer to your set up lies in Routing Operation - tirou1102m000, Transfer batch<Production batch. Kindly go thru the Help on that field..

I simulated as per that, and got the answer for your requirement.
