Can anyone enlighten me on the process of returning unused material from Production in BaaN IV C4(Location & Lot Control Implemented)? I had tried to enter a negative amount in Maintain production Order and I got the message "Quantity not Allowed". :cool:

Go to "Enter Material issue for Production orders" to enter negative qty. Go to "Maintain Outbound data" to specify and release.

Flip's response is the correct action when you are running under Location and Lot Control. This approach provides the cleanest historical record of what activities were performed and links them to the orders requiring the activities.

Using Inventory Transactions would necessitate setting up a reason code which explains the activity and Text notes to relate the action to the cause. Othewise the thread of continuity is lost.
