We extrude in meters and the net quantity is backflushed in kgs.

We always have exactly 25kgs of start up and shut down scrap no matter if we extrude 25 meters or 2,500 meters.

How can I set the bom to account for this scrap for proper MRP planning or Purchase orders?

It takes 1kg to make 1 meter

If I put in a 10 % scrap factor and we extrude 25 meters scrap would be 2.5kgs?

Same 10 % scrap factor but run 2,500 meters scrap would be recorded as 250kgs.

But it is always 25kgs of scrap... how can I account for only 25kgs regardless of quantity produced?

Do I make any sense? There must be a way in Baan?

Ofcourse there is a way in baan. It's a very simple usage. Please use scrap quantity instead of scrap factor.
In the Bom line for the specific raw material which always accounts for 25 kg of scrap irrespective of the finished good quantity.

Enter 25kg as scrap quantity.

I hope it solves your problem.
