We are helping to optimise processes of an ETO business running on Baan IVc4

Their Product Assemblies have upto 40 character strings to describe them.

They would like to use Product Classification to handle these and link to Item master & PCS.

Any documentation or input will be much appreciated.

Hi Navin,

Sorry for the delay in writing.

The company has an Engineered product that has a codification with 40 Chars.

They use PCF to get a customised item on the project.
The customised Item created is numeric. A customised table holds the link between the numeric item and the Char String.

I would like to know if Product Classification can be used to do this in a better way using standard functionality.

Would product classification have any integration with PCF and PCS.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Anshu,

I am afraid to say but to best of my knowledge the Product Classification is generally used for Standard or at most with PCS. But it does not hold any link with PCF.
