I'm trying to determine why we are getting planning signals for some items. The signal is "Order (-part) should be canceled". Can someone provide some insight on what conditions would cause this to be generated?

One of the reasons is you might be confirming and transferring supply orders too early and your demand might get reduced meanwhile. Check the time-phased order planning session and see all the demand and supply orders of this item and you might get some answer. System only adjusts planned purchase or planned production orders for quantity and cannot delete or adjust actual purchase/production orders automatically (in Baan V). So it gives this message.
