Hi which is better suited for planning? MRP or MPS?
in baan does MPS consider only one level below tha planned item for MPS type?

If you need forecast etc,then MPS is the way to go.MPS should be used for item with independent demand, while MRP is for item with depdent demand. Based on your mfg enviroment, it cane be decided what items should be MPS vs MRP. MPS can go multilevel and also it is possible to have MRP level between MPS level.

While there is an area to enter a forecast for MRP, it is important to note that MRP does not consume it but adds it to the demand. It's very misleading.
