I have setup saftey stock for a MPS item in the item master and the MPS plan item master. Still MPS ignores this safety stock. No extra demand is created.
What goes wrong?

It will not create extra demand. System will plan for an additional planned and scheduled receipt. Also make sure that you have set "yes" to Generate Inventory plan".

It doesn't plan extra planned or scheduled receipts either!
I set the safety stock at item level and at plan item level.
I generate MPS (timps3201) with everything on 'Yes'...

What goes wrong?

Check the "Generate Inventory Plan" in Plan Item master.
