in our present setup we do backup procedure as per database. we choose this option because of the large data that we have (40 companies or more and a lot of transaction per day). is it possible to extract from database dump certain tables. we are exploring this idea because we need to restore the item, routing and formula tables only.

your ideas are greatly welcome

Hello gatesplayback,

with google I found the following statement from IBM:

With IDS, Version 10, IBM introduced a new feature called table-level restore. Table-level restore allows restoring one or more tables, in whole or in part, from any available backup archive (ontape as well as onbar).

If you cannot use this feature, you will have to make a full restore, dump the tables in question and then restore the latest (actual) backup again I would think.

Good luck
