We are on Ln6.1 FP3 and faced with a peculiar problem in ODM , when we try to open attachments , the word / excel / pdf document attachments are opening but document attachments of type .gif , .jpg extension files are not opening on some PCs. Error message pops up -"You are trying to open a file of type application extension (.dll)".

Has anybody faced this problem and able to rectify the same.

I run into the same problem some days ago. It's caused by the default application that Windows is using for opening .gif, *.jpg etc. (Windows Image Viewing or something like that). Register (within Windows) a "regular" Image Viewer Application (like IrfanView or something like that) for the image file endings and it will work.

Thanks for the response on the subject matter. Sorry for the delayed response from my end. We feel that this is a defect/bug , so for the time being we started using an alternative an alternative image viewer and the problem got resolved.We are following up with Infor on this.
