Back Lush materials means if the components should be backflused, back flished if material means, if the item ius used in the BOM, then it should be back flushed or not. In order to back flush to work, the parent item should be set for "Backflush material" to "Yes" and component "Back flus if material" to be "Yes".

Shalini,
If A is parent of B,C & D and if you want that all components of A should get be backflushed except say D then the flags should be set like this
For A - Backflush to be Yes
For B- Back flush if material to be Yes
For C- Back flush if material to be Yes
For D- Back flush if material to be No
System uses this to have default value in Estimated Materials. But one can change it the Estimated manually, if needed.

Thanks Arvind.
one more question related to this: If A is a parent item of B,C,D where D has a BOM of two items E,F. In this case, wat will be the functionality of Backflush Materials & Backflush if Material ? If we set the Backfulsh if Material for D to No then wat will happen with E & F ?

Shalini,
The flag operates only on single BOM level. If D happens to be a phatom then while creating production order for A, E & F will come into picture. Otherwise, there will be a separate production order for A and seprate for D.
