Can anybody uses subcontracting rate factor ? i want to know in which senerio subcontracting rate factor to be used ?

If you have an operation performed by the subcontractor for which the price is related to some characteristic of the item (such as weight, length, volume) then the subcontractor will quote you a price per kg, m, m3... This price goes into the subcontracting rate. In the routing of the item you then specify the multiplication factor to be applied to the rate for this specific item. BaaN will calculate the price as the rate * ratefactor.

Example:

Oops. send happened before I was done.

Example
Price : 100 EUR/m3

Item 1 : 0.25 m3 ==> subcontr rate fact = 0.25
Item 2 : 0.45 m3 ==> subcontr rate fact = 0.45

If subcontractor changes his price you only have to change it in one place.
