Hi,

I am getting this error "Successor already released; advance effective date" when I try to insert a new revision (using tiedm1101m000 - Maintain Engineering Item Revisions) in the same date of the last revision.

Example:

I had a revision P03 with effective date 08-03-07 and I want to insert another revision P04 in the same date. I got the error after I insert the date in the effective field.

I am sure it worked before. I have some examples for items that have two or more revisions that have the same date. Now it is not working! Can somebody help me please?

Thanks in advance,

- David

I just saw that it was PO3 and not P03 (P<ZERO>3) but I still don't understand why can not I do that?!

Is it a definition somewhere?

Hello,
You must write your revisions in an alphanumerical order... So, revision PO4 instead of P<ZERO>4 should work!

Good Luck!

Thank you for your reply,

Yes I noticed it must be in an alphanumerical order. If I try today to put P<Zero>4 it will work (with the date of today 09-03-07). Is there a parameter I can change to fix this? I want to be able to go from PO3 to P<zero>4 (or P03 to 00A) or in the same day. Is it possible?

Thanks for your input,

Can you explain the logic behind the alphanumerical order? And why it applies only in the same day? If I try to enter a revision that is not in alphanumerical order in the next day it will work! Is there an explanation for that?

Can anyone explain the logic behind the revision alphanumerical order (just in the same day!)?
