Hi All ,
Our MPS operation (timps3201m000) takes too long about 5 hours. I searched the board and I realized performance booster session ( tcmcs0197m000).
MPS was set with 2 servers option in this session. Our HPUX has 2 CPU. IF I set count of servers 4 , what can be happened ? Is it good for MPS ? or
What can I do to decrease working time ?. What should I do ?
Thanks

5 hrs is a bit long indeed. Isn't it wise to look functional first before trying to do some trics with boosters?
What are the MPS-numbers we're talking about:
# items
# MPS BOM lines
length of MPS horizon
etc.......

Hi
Number of total items is 27832
Number of MPS items is 4813
what you mean MPS bom lines and MPS horizon ?

You MPS horizon is based on the MPS parameter Time Fence multiplier (timps0100m000). The value of this field, multilied by the Time Fence per item gives your MPS horizon. In "normal" circumstances (depending on your business requirements) the horizon is about min. 1 year but prehaps you can lay a bit with this parameter to shorten the horizon and see what the performance results are.

200 was set for time fence . Is that normal ?

Time fence means that it looks past times up to date about this time for orders, stocs. Is that correct ? And also I see time fence part in maintain plan items (timps200). If I want to run MPS for some items what should I do ?
If I assigns "0" value to time fence in maintain plan part what will happen ?
However , I saw MPS refresh frequency in mps parameters part. This value was set 150. Is that normal ?
Thanks.

You may also need to look at how long your daily buckets are set for. Usually 4 weeks of daily buckets give you a month then have so many weekly buckets and then monthly buckets. This will reduce your run time as for each daily bucket it creates (Writes) a record in the MPS Schedule.

What about performance booster?

Normally I would use either 4 or 8 depending on your system.
