We are making insulated panels of different lengths but the width is standard for a given profile (shape) of the panel chosen.

We customize each size based on a standard/phantom item but would like the width to be chosen automatically by BaaN based on the profile chosen. At present, we are entering the width also, leading to possible data entry errors which have a lot of consequential effects on the output down the procedure line that can be avoided.

Can someone give advice on how to go about this?

Your process mapping is not clear. Can you please elaborate on which fields u r using to represnt what and u r using PCF or PCS.

Sorry for delay in clarifying to your query. We are using PCS and not PCF(maybe we should be using this?).

I am attaching a copy of the session. We are manually entering the length and width of a particular piece of profiled sheet in the length and width fields at the bottom left of the session.

However, for a given profile, the width is standard. Given the item code, BaaN should be able to pick up the standard width so that we avoid data entry and costly mistakes.
