Hallo,

Hoping somebody can give me some advice or ideas.

The company where I am working uses the Alternate Item Code Systems for various purposes. For example storing the supplier's item number or storing technical document numbers which are relevant to an item. In terms of the supplier's item number, there is generally only one alternate item code per item (code system, suppier/customer). However, when it comes to technical documentation, there may be more than one document which relates to a single item (code system, suppier/customer).

As the session only allows one alternate item code per item, is this really the right place to be putting things like document numbers which can have a many to one relationship with item numbers? In one of our installations we simply changed the table definition - but is there a place in Baan standard for keeping this type of information??

Thanks in advance,
Steve.

Do you use Engineering Management? Under the E-BOM you can also store the non-physical items such as drawing numbers , doc codes etc?
