We are currently using Baan IV c2 and the issue that we are having is finding out the real material, labor and overhead cost of the saleable item code.
When a standard item had a multi level BOM, the costs passed into the parent item come as both opetation and material costs. However, in a multi-level BOM on a customized item, all lower level component costs come in the parent item as material costs.
Is there any enhancement in IV c2 to solve this issue? Any suggestions? work arounds?

Have you seen table ticpr300 (Stanbdard Cost Price by Item) This table has each of the cost compnents appropriate for an item. These may include: several material components, labour, machine and other overhead components, surcharges etc, for the level you are looking at. ie: if the top level then this is the total cost.

This is a major shortcoming of the Baan IV standard. The detailed information contained in the standard cost price structure of standard items (concerning material and operation costs) gets lost as soon as this item enters a project. There is no work-around in the standard.
However, I have realized a customization implemented for two customers of mine. However, major sessions have to be changed (mainly the project cost price calculation sessions), to not use cost price component of a standard item, but a more detailed information instead. If it's feasable and how long such a customization would take, depends on your situation (depth of BOMs, number of orders and so on.), because e.g. the number of integration postings will increase.
