Hi,

In BaanVc, anybody knows how to setup fixed duration to work with limitation also?

I have a process af fixed duration say about 5 hours but the process also has a maximum capacity of the quantity that can be processed at one time, say 100 pcs.

So if I process 100 pcs, duration = 5 hrs
if I process 300 pcs, duration = 15 hrs
if I process 50 pcs, duration = 5 hrs

anybody ever setup for this condition?
please share your opinion

Have you looked at Qty dependent routing?

Yes I have...

I thought of that as the only available solution to this matter at this moment.
Its just that I have to specify the routing for all the possible quantity - Cycletime combination that made me look for other options.

I was hoping that there are other ways to do this better.

Hendra,

I would like to suggest you to log a Change Request at SSA for this.

A proposed solution could be to add a field 'Max. Qty for Fixed Duration operation', to be filled only if the operation has 'Fixed Duration' checked.
The production planning should then create multiple operations when the qty exceeds the 'Max. Qty for Fixed Duration operation'.

Note: this also would require 'parallel operations' to be implemented then.

(never shooten, always missed ...)

Eddy

Hi Eddy,

I followed your suggestion and log a case for enhancement.
They are still working on it and would advise me whether they will proceed with the improvement or not.
Will get back, when I have the result

Thanks
