Hi,
Could someone help me with this situation. The end item planning method is MPS while the raw materials are MRP. Example
End item A
Component X effective date is 1 Jan 05 to 15 Jan 05
Component Y effective date is 16 Jan 05 to 31 Jan 05

When End item A MPS production order is generated with start date of 14 Jan, finish date of 20 Jan 05, MRP purchase orders was generated for Component Y because component X has expired. Users would like the system to generate MRP for component X based on the start date of MPS orders instead of the finish date of MPS production orders. The reason is because item x and y is interchangeable, and users would like to finish the stock of x first before purchasing y.
Does anyone face this problem before?

thanks

Hi

What is the operation on the BOM line? Make it zero and MRP will plan for the material to be there at the beginning of the order.

Then I think you need an new MRP object from Baan. Please log a case and load the object in a test system and try it.
