Why does Close Production Orders takes Ages - one order 10-15 minutes?
It supposed to be very fast.

Check which step is very slow during closing process.
Probably writing/reading of integration trans. table or cost/hours history tables are slow so check these tables.

there a some improvments regarding the performance for the session but they are some years old. So what is your actual service pack level?
