This can mean a lot of things, all to do with lacking stock/availability for the item. If you post more details, maybe it will be easier to help. Are you able to debug? I don't know if you own sources, but then it would be easiest. I'm not sure about Baan IVC, but in BaanV the message is given in whinhdll0102 -> check stock availability. The message code is whinhs0800.

I don't have source code. When I am making purchase receipt in supply chain after putting receipt date, the system gives error "Insufficient Inventory for item " for a particular items and its working fine for other items.

Have a look at the Insufficient Inventory for item: X (http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/showthread.php?t=22569) thread. There, NS was having exactly same weird problem with you. Turned out that they had a corrupted inventory records. The error was gone once the inventory records were fixed. If you need more information, I think you can contact NS
