Can anybody tell me if in BOM the main item and subitem can be the same one? The BaaN tells no when I try to do it but maybe there is a parameter to change it.

What problem are you trying to solve by doing this?

Hi Marek,
I assume you want to do some 'rework' on the item and therefore want to define it as material for itself......
Baan 'invented' the 'rework-order' ........no need to (re)define BOM's.

I try to describe what kind of problem I am trying to solve. We use BaaN Dimension and transformation orders for flat material coating. The same material can be also sold without coating. The coated material belongs to the same item as non-coated one(Dimension use additional information in comparision to the standard so different materials can be the same item in BaaN). I have to define a standard BOM having the same item as a main item and subitem.
I will take a look at the rework orders.

So it's more like a co/by-produkt.
If it is a co/byprodukt, then define it as a co/by-produkt
