Hi,
We produce several items and we want to sell a set of these items as a kit item, for instance:
We produce and sell Item A, Item B and Item C
ans we want to sell an Item called "KIT" that it is composed by 1 unit of A, 2 units of C and 1 unit of B.

Somebody knows how can I do it in BaaN?

Thanks in advance,

In V there is an item type of KIT but it seems you are on IV.
In IV you can enter a manufactured item on the sales order and copy the components. You will then need to create a BOM for the KIT.

In Baan4 another option is to define the “Kit” item as a phantom with a BOM. You then enter the phantom on the sales order. When you generate the picklist or outbound, Baan will tell you to pick the components and extend the BOM quantity by the Kit sales order line quantity.

Hi jlopez,

Flip is correct. The error message means that Baan is unable to explode the BOM for the phantom item you want to sell.

Hi people,
I've follwed your suggestions and I've got to entry the order without problems...
BUT now I've tried to generate the outbound advice I get only the first of the items and no news from the rest (I've enought stock for delivering them).
Somebody knows what it's happening?
Maybe my structure is not right, or not?

Thanks again,:)

Hi jlopez,
please check the SLS Bom if all required components are present.
Another hint:
Baan allows to have inventory for phantom items. As far as I remember, this inventory is allocated until the economic stock reaches zero.

Hope this helps.

Martin
