I have recently completed the installation of SSA ERPln 6.1 On a Linux Server running Oracle 9i.

Everything is working perfectly except on about 50% of machines accessing webtop i get the following error just after logging in : "could not load: class com.baan.bfe.webtop.client.widgets.ie.TabWidget$TabStrip$TabStripItems"

All the clients are running IE 6, with the Microsoft JVM

any ideas welcome

Apart from that its all working perfectly

I am also getting this error, also on XP Pro SP2. I am getting another error, see below, when starting the help viewer:

Could not execute command: com.ms.com.ComFailException: Access is denied. (See also the java-console for the stack-trace)

Do you get this error? Please let me know if you find a solution.

This problem with WinXP clients still occurs on what I believe is the latest build of webtop 3.1 (build HH0123). I'm pretty sure that SSA are working to resolve this issue and make webtop independent of both the MS JVM and IE, because MS is no longer distributing a JVM with IE and MS keeps changing IEs behaviour.

Can some of you provide me some user stories concerning Webtop with BIVc4?
I'm intrested in pro's and con's from users instead of Sales talk.

Thnx

Indeed, the next version of Webtop (Webtop 4.0) will be independent of both the MS JVM and IE. Instead Webtop 4.0 can be run on any platform and browser that supports Java. The problem with Windows XP SP2 will also be solved in this version. Furthermore, Webtop 4.0 will be much faster than its predecessors. Webtop 4.0 will be available at the end of this quarter. :)
