Hi
In our BaaN system we have 24 BaaN licenses. Sometimes these licenses tend to get stuck.
How should we kill licenses when you have get licenses stuck in the license monitor, without shutting down the server?
Pls help

In later porting sets (6.1c.07 onwards) there is a command licmon6.1 -c to recover such licenses. It will recover all licenses without supporting bshell pid runnin gon the server.

licmon6.1 -c command will be available with porting set from Baan. It's available from 6.1c.07 onwards.
For porting set upgrade there is a solution in CS&S which u can get through knowledge search in Baan support site.

Hi,
What if , if an upgrade to Porting set is not desired, can he do it by restarting the Licencing service ???
just a thought. I hope restarting the licencing services doesn't push other active users out of bshell.
Waiting for your reply.

Restarting license server licd6.1 again initializes license to 0 . There is some time gap between the stopping and restarting of the licence server . During this time no fresh login will happen . There may be problem with opening new sessions in existing connections. And finally if already existing Baan connection remains unutilized for some time and number of connections after restarting license service reaches maximum number , the existing user with unutilized BW will be refused to work with Baan when he/she resumes work.
So you can resort to this mechanism with these inherent issues. Alternatively you may restart licenses at every evening if possible.

there are 2 solutions (82511 & 102338) available on the Baan support website that detail how the licence server works.
