Flexible Steel Lacing Company is a world resource for conveyor belt maintenance technology, based in Downers Grove, IL. For 100 years, weve been manufacturing belt conveyor products worldwide. Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for the Business Analyst/Developer position.
Perform functions to develop, design and architect applications with ERP systems. Lead or participate in cross functional project teams.
Under general direction:
1. Project Management/Business Analyst
a. Manage and coordinate application development with ERP systems using standard Software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology.
b. Rapid development of Project Charter, Project Plans, User Acceptance Test criteria, Roll-out plans.
c. Create/edit technical documents using analytical software/design tools like MS Visio.
d. Assist Technical teams/Technical consultants in translating business objectives/requirements into technical directives.
e. Lead or participate as an effective, result-oriented resource in cross-functional project teams and assist business units in translating requirements.
f. Plan, compose & present new/streamlined applications to internal/external audience.
2. Application and Report Development
a. Develop medium to complex database driven web applications using appropriate languages, protocols and technologies.
b. Make best-practice recommendations for application and report development.
c. Develop or customize existing reports using ERPs scripting language and Crystal 8.5/XI typically for operational metrics, key performance indicators, marketing, forecasting.
3. Database Management
a. Assist Senior Systems Integrator with installation and testing of ERP solutions/patches.
b. Analyze dependencies and any adverse impact prior to deploying application to production environment.
c. Monitor software developed by internal/external technical reps to maintain system data integrity.
4. Vendor Management
a. Provide relevant Project documentation
b. Review Statement of Work (SOW) for outsourced development projects and challenge proposal quote, if necessary.
c. Ability to function as a Software/Database Architect for outsourced projects.
d. Coordinate Vendor resources and needs.
e. Manage performance of development contractors, including maintaining vendor scorecards on a per project basis.
f. Keep abreast of projects, ensuring new contractors are advised of current status and project requirements.
5. Technical Support
a. Diagnosis & resolution of advanced help desk issues. Follow-up with third-party providers in resolving issues, if necessary.
b. Develop and maintain documentation of all changes.
c. Develop Procedures and Guidelines as when required.
Education: Bachelors in Computer Science or any Engineering/Science discipline with a minimum of 5 years related experience. Any related Professional Certifications is a plus.

.NET Skills: ASP.NET/VB.NET, C#, ADO.NET, Web Service

Technologies: COM/COM+, ODBC, MTS, MSMQ, OLE/ActiveX
Databases: SQL, MS Access
c. Familiarity with Operating Systems: WINDOWS NT/2000/XP Browsers: IE6.0/7.0, Firefox
d. Software/Database architectural design skills, a plus
e. A minimum of 3 years Crystal report writing (8.5/Business Objects XI)/development experience.
BaanERP Experience
a. BaanERP 5.0c experience is a plus
b. Functional expertise in
Manufacturing (Bill of Material, Routing, Shop Floor Control Production order control, Planning, Production Order Reporting, Production Order Costing)
Warehousing (Cycle Counting, Inventory Movement, Inventory Reporting)
Purchase (Subcontract Operations, Receiving)
c. Data structure understanding of BaanERP Manufacturing and Purchase, a plus.
