Dear consultants:

I am looking for a senior Consultant with an accounting background. Designation of CMA or CGA would be preferred. This Toronto, Ontario, Canada based contract opportunity is expected to last at least 6 months and may lead to permanent emplyment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyse and design common business systems improvement processes for new or existing common systems in a timely, thorough and accurate manner
• Confers with business units to analyze current business procedures, identifying problems, and learn specific requirements
• Writes detailed descriptions of users needs. Processes/business procedures and prepares design specifications, functional work flow diagrams and input and output forms.
• Proactively investigates and provides written evaluation for development or purchase of software to meet current and projected business needs
• Reviews and evaluates requested enhancements, providing proposed solutions
• Investigate and evaluate new software availability to meet business applications.
• Adheres to Project Methodologies and Controls.
• Problem analysis and resolution
• Coordinates system implementation activities.
• Determine task requirements and time estimates for projects gaining required approvals
• Develops custom system interfaces based on user requirements & system capabilities
• Manages changes to be implemented to reduce the risk and increase the success of the implementation
• Ensures that approved IT standard operating procedures/policies/procedures are adhered to
• Defines and corrects discrepancies throughout the life cycle of system
• Creates and manages the user acceptance and parallel test plans and related activities
• Provide reference material by writing and maintaining user documentation, procedures and instructions
• Provides support by ensuring stability of the application, addressing and resolving business issues in a timely manner
• Provides timely user training on system use

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Relevant College/University education in business or relevant discipline
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and COBIT considered an asset.
• MBA considered an asset
• CGA or CMA or in progress
• ERP Implementation Experience, Baan or Sap experience considered an asset
• Minimum five (5) years experience in systems analysis and a minimum of five (5) years in IT
• Ability to write functional system specifications
• Expert in Cost Accounting
• Understanding of the business and its system requirements with the ability to make recommendations
• PMP certification considered an asset, problem solving, planning and organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills and team lead skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
