Programmer Analyst - ERP

This position is for the Telemetry-West business unit which is located in San Diego, California, and employs about 500 employees. It serves commercial, military, and civilian customers worldwide, with a product offering that includes TT&C satellite transponders, high data rate satellite transmitters, high-power amplifiers, high-reliability receivers/transmitters, encryption/ decryption units, video compression/decompression units, tactical intelligence radios, tactical HF/SSB and microwave radios, telemetry ground system components and solutions, and specialized telemetry and surveillance products.
Position Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to learn, contribute and grow in a dynamic IT environment consisting of modern business applications (ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning system such as Baan), databases, and data-warehousing technologies.
In this role, you will work with senior analyst programmers and users to gather business requirements and develop technical specifications. You will develop new features or customize existing applications and reports using procedural and event-driven programming languages. You will develop test plans and conduct thorough testing to insure software quality. You will provide business reporting support using SQL and other reporting tools including business intelligence / data-warehousing tools. You will also be required to program using Baan programming language which is similar to VB / Oracle Forms / PL-SQL. If necessary Baan training will be provided to the right candidate.
You will assist with IT systems and process documentation, system upgrades, user training, and other duties as assigned.
Must-have Job Skills and Experience
At least 3 years application development experience with full life-cycle system development
Must have some understanding of enterprise business information systems used to manage production and financial data
Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills, including writing SQLs, views, stored procedures, triggers, performance tuning, data-modeling / table designing
Very good knowledge of any of Oracle / Informix / MS SQL server databases
Basic knowledge of HTML, server and client scripting languages for web-development
Excellent analytical, team-working and communication skills. Strong attention to details
Excellent MS-Office (Excel, Word) skills
BS or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology
Skills providing an added advantage:
Experience with Baan or similar ERP packages involving manufacturing and financial modules
Web development experience using Java, .NET or other similar programming languages.
