This position will provide programming expertise and support for engineered products that will positively impact and add value to the Global Engineering Group and new product development process.
The primary objectives of this position are to:
* Develop and maintain the engineering application programs and systems that enable the company's business processes.
* The incumbent is responsible for performing functions of systems analysis and programming, and is capable of performing these functions in multiple operating environments.
* Provide project management support for New Product Development initiatives and existing product modifications.
* The incumbent is responsible for managing project scopes, time lines, costs, support and implementation.
Principal Responsibilities:
* Interacting and consulting with teams and individuals throughout the company (Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Production, etc.) to obtain goals utilizing an enterprise resource planning database product and Microsoft tool sets.
* Maintain existing configuration model and correct problems and improve accuracy of programming logic and rules, create new configuration models, test and implement as directed by Engineering.
* Must be able to learn proprietary configuration programs, CAD systems and improve existing engineering tools and processes to facilitate reduction in engineering hours and improve efficiency.
* Be able to create and present project status reports.
* Participate and/or lead design project teams and activities involving evaluation, recommendation, design, and implementation of new products and major product modifications.
* Understand and participate in the Lean and Six Sigma concepts and efforts.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
* 3-5 years programming experience.
* Knowledge of ERP systems
* Experience with Production Planning Systems
* Experience in a manufacturing operation
* Knowledge of BaaN Product Configurator
* Project Management Experience
* Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
* 3GL, 4GL languages (A Must), Visual Basic (A Plus)
