Hello Dear Friends,
As many might know I work at NAZDAQ (http://nazdaq-it.com/), and we have released our new PDF Report Designer (b2Diz (http://www.nazdaq-it.com/products/b2diz/)) that integrates with our products (b2Win, b2Mail-Merge...)
I am so excited of this new tool and asked permission to do a free small package specially for you guys (Baanboardians) so that you can try it out! With it you can design any report! You can add a background, change the text position, font type, size, color, bold , italic and many other properties! It is so easy to use, with a WYSIWYG interface (What you see is what you get). The final result will be converted to a PDF document.
The installation is very simple, copy the files to the server, import a couple of dumps, create run-time DD and add the new device! That is it! The b2Diz device will be working for every Baan user!
This package is free and fully functional! There is a demo deign for the standard Purchase Order to start with, and you can try it on any report you want! Moreover, if you decide to buy any of our products you will get 15% discount! This offer is until the end of 2013 only!
If anyone would like to try it out, just let me know, send me a PM (http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/private.php?do=newpm&u=6453), email (http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=6453) or just leave your email in the thread below. Please, do mention your Baan version (4, 5 or LN), and I will get back to you with a download link and some instructions.
I would love to hear from you.
Have a nice designed day!
- George

b2Diz is an addon for b2Win and b2Mail-Merge products. Using it you can make new designs (fonts, color, formats, move the text around and more) and then apply the design in those products so that they can be converted to PDF and launch the PDF/email/fax/archive...
As I know you Ehab sent you b2Win, you can try the b2Diz in it. Let us know if you need any help there. Haven't you tried it? Maybe a live demo on our system can help you out?
Here, in this thread, I made a small package, just to show how you can easily design your reports with b2Diz, so that users would see how good it is.

Hi,
Yes. I believe our tool can help you.
The design it self needs to be built once on a windows machine, then it can be used on UNIX or Linux.
I will contact you in a private message / email and send you more details.

We are looking for a way to merge variable PDF's into one PDF for printing in the rights sequence from LN, but it restricts running background processess due to the new product strategy and roadmap.

Groeten Gerard

Groeten Gerard but please stick to English - I will leave the post, but in the future please post in English. I ran it thru a quick online translator:
I have created a job output device calling a unix script
I scan the pre-printed fact paper as pdf and disturb it on the server
As a parameter, I give a lnk to the output invoice pfd
Then I call a java prg that adds the pre-printed invoice pdf as the background to the invoice pdf.
The result PDF I sent to the printer,
This is the global story, if you want to know the details, I have to dig a bit deep

Thanks Mark, sorry, I kind of triggered him :o
Thanks Gerard, "java" was the key, there are several ways to go, but we will do the own development based on the iTextSharp library.
