The article link below which is directed at the not-as-good-as-expected performance of Oracle after its $20billion buying spree, does give a good insight into the ERP market.
(1) Oracle spent $11 billion on buying Peoplesoft (Baan cost SSA $135 million or approximately 1.2 percent of PeopleSoft)
(2) Spent a furhter $9 billion on buying Siebel and others
(3) SAP has 21 % of the applications market
(4) Oracle has 10 % of applications market
(5) Oracle's applications revenue for last quarter $269 million ($1 billion pa)
