Hi,
We have a WAN implemented with each LAN having different IP Schemes. I would like to know is there any Chat software available which can be configured so that people in the WAN can chat with each other.
Thanks

Thanks for prompt reply. However I would like to implement it on our WAN where some nodes are not having Internet access. Will Jabber work only for our personnel in our WAN.
Thanks

rsundaresan, you will have to setup your own jabber server(s) on your private network. There are a lot of articles on the internet for this topic, e.g.: http://linuxgazette.net/112/tomar.html

hi rsundersen
There is one more option for LAN Chatting is ICQ. You need to install ICQ server in one pc and the client in other pcs of your network.

I am looking for a Chat software which can work on Windows clients under WAN configuration i.e three LANs with differnt IP schemes connected using Leased Lines. Also the clients do not have Internet access. This is strictly for Internal chat solution of our organization communication only.
Any solutions on this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Jabber is FREE and the documentation is easy enough to be able to setup your own server, you can then use several [free] clients. I don't see any particularities of beeing in a WAN.
I suggest you to read the jabber documentation for the server side (also explains the protocols and ports used) and to search for more information on google or IM groups since this is not Baan related.
