Microsoft and Unisys teamed up on the web site http://www.wehavethewayout.com to boost the Microsoft Windows OS as alternative for the UNIX operating system(s).

However, check out on what platform their webserver is running by executing (from a *nix):

wget -s http://www.wehavethewayout.com

And check out the headers of the resulting index.html file :)

For those who can't get to it or in case Microsoft spotted that they were making a complete ass of themselves, here's the header of the index.html:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Sat, 30 Mar 2002 12:54:18 GMT
Server: Rapidsite/Apa-1.3.14 (Unix) FrontPage/4.0.4.3 mod_ssl/2.7.1 OpenSSL/0.9.

Pat,

On a tangential topic, I was searching for software (for Windows) which shows the HTTP headers being exchanged between my browser and a webserver. The closest I came to was on http://www.whirlywiryweb.com/. Got the same results as you did :).

Big news sites are carrying the story now:

BTW: if you want to capture packets and analyse them, try ethereal:

http://www.ethereal.com/

It's open source and runs on many platforms.
