Hi,

My first Question is

I want to know if it possible to access the Baan ERP package from the internet.
How is the transaction handling done in this case, is the security issue taken care of?

The second question I have is

Will it be possible for a user to use the Mobile Phone or the PDA to access the ERP application?
Is there an Client availabe for these or does he need to start the Internet browser on these and access the Baan ERP?

Thanks
Venkat

I think the best way to do this, is by using a Citrix/Terminal server. That way you keep all the logic (client) on a machine you connect to.

Much better I think for your bandwith and security.

(and there are plenty of PDA/Handheld terminal clients around!)

Robert.

Venkat,

This functionality is available via a Web Engineered solution Wise XE from Fullscope. It offers pre-built web applications and a complete development environment for exposing your Baan system via any "front facing" device.

For more details, visit www.fullscope.com or send me an email and I will contact you.

Good luck

Hi,

BW client can do that. You must in host name write IP from your router and configure port on router that request from bw client send to baan server.

Hi...

You can do it on BaanV with the webtop... Baan has designed
the webtop in install on the web server. Also, you need to
install Baan Openworld.

If you are no BaanV, I beleive this is the best way since the
Baan OpenWorld and Baan Webtop is free.

If I am informed correctly Baan will soon be able to deliver webtop for BaanIV and BaanV without having to install OpenWorld.

You need to install an application server like webshere but tomcat (open source) can be used as well.

We have a beta version for BaanERP5.0c and are currently testing it.
