I saw this in one of our member's profiles today (see picture). Anybody care to explain to me what the 'miracle' version is? :)

Hi patvdv

If you look at the history of Baan, the first product to be released was Miracle. Triton 1 Junior has Miracle 4.3 as Tools version. I actually have a customer still using T1, therefore thought it was appropriate to add it to the list.

Nico

Nico,

Thanks for the info. I am sure not many people know of this 'ancient' version :) What year was it released?

Don't really know. Somewhere in the 1980's? Any of the other "oldies" know exactly?

Miracle was the "Baan Tools" of Triton 1.x version. The first date I used this tool (if I can remember exactly) was about 1988, working in customizing Triton 1.1
For instance, the VRC concept wasn't in it...

Miracle might had been released before 1988.

I know a person, who had worked on it, way back in 1983.

That's quite early! But could it be that he worked with the product Miracle, which was the predecessor of Triton?

I have here a MIRACLE user manual for version 4.1. The date is 12 October 1989.
Miracle stands for

Machine
Independent
Risc
Architecture
Computer
Language
Environment

Later it has been renamed to Triton Tools and after that Baan Tools.

I do not have anything to contribute here except the comment that this exchange of historical information is truly interesting. I love this kind of stuff........ my wife calls it useless trivia..... but I still love it. :)

Oh well! The customer migrated to 4c4, so I have to remove Miracle from my profile... Anyway, at least I stirred up a discussion!
