Hi,

We are implementing fixed assets, and I have a question on setting the years in use for straight-line depreciation.

We only use straight-line depreciation, but have several years in use (5 year, 10 year, etc).

So I've set up one depreciation code using the "Number of years in use" method. This will be linked to all assets.

So now where do I set the life span of the asset? I see two possible places, and the help for each is kind of vague:

On Fixed Asset Master Data (tffas0106m000) I could use:

Number of years in Use (tffas007.nuse). But on the form, this is in the same box as Performance Unit Information, which we don't use, so I wonder if it only applies to that.

Date of Last Use (tffas007.ltdt).

Thanks,
Rob

If depreciation method is Number of Years in Use then year number should be defined in Fixed Assets Master data (tffas007.nuse). Do not worry about performance unit block.
