this is not an error of selection.
This type of error was discussed several times on the Board.
Try using the search function like with keywords 'Error in reading sort file'

Error generate bcz of wrong selection of data ( Period - 2009) or transaction is not finalized for selected ledger a/c.

check all the transaction is finalized or not.

Have you added more fields to the Input Fields? Try to remove some fields not used in the report. Hope it works for you.
