I have processed provisional closer for last fiscal year (2007). Problem is tfgld203 is getting correct opening balance for this year (2008) but tfgld206 getting incorrect balance. Have some reasons for this? Please help for our problem.

Please check/do the following:

a) Trial balance of 2007 should be OK, means closing balance is 0.00

b) Rebuild ledger history of 2007, including dimensions/opening balance of
2007 from transactons - using session: tfgld3202m000

c) After (a) and (b) then run the session - Close Year Provisional-
tfgld6201m000

Hopefully, it will solve the problem.

Dear Dinushi,

Please check the documents debit/credit balances for 2007 using session:tfgld3410m000 -->Print Debit/Credit amounts by document in this session check print difference only in options and see if there is document unbalanced and then if you find any/some document unbalanced, then balance them first and then rebuild the ledger history as mentioned in my above post and hopefully, this will resolve your issue.

How was this problem resolved? Anybody can help..
I have a similar case, provisional done properly, no errors.. but when i try to final close the GLD for last period in FY 2011, I get the below error message.. Even the session tfgld6403m000 gives no data within selection.. what did I miss out ?

"The Period Status GLD field has an invalid value in Period Status.
Please run session "Print Unbalanced Ledger Accounts during Year End" (tfgld6403m000) for analysis.
Total Balance Ledger Account does not tally for 1170866.79 AUD, table tfgld201/tfgld203."

Hi Saroj,

This happens sometimes because of rounding off error during comparison. You can try increasing rounding factor of currency (in session tfmcs0102m000) 'AUD'. e.g. if it is 0.0001 make it 0.001 and try to close.

Thanks for the response.. In my environment, the rounding factor of the currencies in use is 0.01, so should i try with 0.1?

Sure you can try increasing rounding factor to one decimal place.
