Hello, all,

We use Baan IVc4 and establish a new company in Belgium.

I know that you can enter a shorter business year (e.g. only 6 month) as the normal one (e.g. 12 month) in Baan.

In Belgium it is possible to have a “long” business year in the first year after establishing a company.

Our normal business years go from 01.01.xx – 31.12.xx.
12 financial periods + 2 correction periods.

Now, we want to set up a long business year “2007” from 01.11.2006 – 31.12.2007 (so: 14 financial periods + 2 correction periods)

In tfgld0101m000 Maintain Group Company Parameters I´ve got to enter the number of periods used, normally 12+2= 14 financial periods in our case.
For this long first business year I would have to enter 16 financial periods (?)(how many tax/ reporting periods?), but I will not be able to change this afterwards when we need only 14 in the following business years.

Or is it better to set up a business year “2006” 01.11.06-31.12.06 (2 financial periods) and then a business year “2007” from 01.01.07 – 31.12.07 (12+2 periods). But in that case we need a year end processing for 2006 with balance sheet etc., don´t we – and only for 2 months?

Any ideas?
Thank you for your help in advance,
