Hi all,

I am getting the following error message while Reprint Journal report for Fixed Asset.

"Sorterror 8: sort failed due to error in write( )"

After click ok, another error message appeared

“Error in reading sort file record: 24 fields scanned, 53 expected”

After user click ok, will print out Non-Finalized transactions (Totals by Ledger Account). Another error message appeared

“error in reading sort file record: 0 field scanned, 15 expected.”

The report can be print out but few records is not displayed in the list. We here got about 15 categories for Fixed Asset, just able to show only for 9 categories.

Can somebody tell me what are those error message mean and what is the solution?

Any suggestion is very much appreciated.

Hi

I hope you must have fixed the problem if not, these messages appear due to special characters present in some of the records, they will be present in string fields(like reference fields). If you fix these values and then the report should work fine.
