Hi All,

I am changing the start date of a financial period in session
tfgld0105m000(for example, from 01-10-2004 to 10-10-2004 for period 10). There are already finalized transactions during that time but system allows to change the start date. What will be the impact of this? The transactions between 01-10-2004 and 10-10-2004 are still showing as in period 10. As per the new start date, the transactions must be in period 9. Is there any way that system will change the period in the finalized transactions/history?

Thanks in advance,
srikarthy

Sorry for the delay. I am on vacation :D

It is a manual process.
1) You dump the transactions for your period into Excel or some other tool, where you can aggregate transactions by ledger and dimensions (pivot table is good) and you
2) make a journal voucher, that takes the sum of your transactions out of the existing period (reversal), and then you
3) make a new journal voucher that puts the sum of your transactions back into the correct period.

Consider wether you need all your balance account transactions in the correct period, since your end balances, will be the same anyway. That may save you from some difficulties. E.g. some of the balance accounts you are not allowed to make manual postings.

Good luck.

Eric
