Is there a way to change the sequence of roles (change the sequence in which they appear in the Process Browser) in LN?

We had the same question and according to Infor there is no way to do this. It is available in Baan 5.0b but in LN the roles will appear sorted by name.

Not quite sure that is true.

I'll leave a screen print of one of our process browsers. You can see that it is not sorted alpha, however, i can not determine just how it IS sorted..LOL

As far as I know the sorting is based on the code of the role, not the description. The description is the part that displays. So if it is really important one could use codes that sort in the way desired for the roles.

:) Actually if you use the 'external code' field you can sort by this.

As far as I know the sequencing on external code is only applicable / relevant for activities not for roles. On each activity you can set the external code. Such a field is not available for role if i am not mistaken.

You are absolutely right HOTJENS.

I've looked at this again and it appears that it IS searching the roles in a logical way (OK logical for Baan) It is looking at alpha first, then alpha numerical. SOOOOOO the easy answer to this is.... always name your roles in a logical sequence, the same way you would for item codes. It looks at numerical, then alpha, then alpha numerical.

Hope this clarifies thisngs for everyone.
