Hello DEM-goeroes,

within tgbrg5122s000 you have the possibility to add a link to a file via the field URL. This works well with a share from any url like a windows-share

How to access now a file from our Unix-Baan-server ? I think there is a specific character at the begin like ! or # or else, but this does not work.

Be aware: What work is ftp://user:password@host:port/path, but ftp is not allowed at our site.

We would have something like //10.30.11.12/tmp/testfile.txt

Any idea ?

Hi

Rather than have the activity as an Application, select File and put the path and filename in the Argument field, leaving the URL field blank. For commonly mapped file extensions, Windows will recognise what application to launch - peobably Notepad for a .txt file.

Whether this will work will still depend on the user having the correct UNIX permissions for the target file.

If this doesn't work, try storing the document on a shared Windows volume with read-only access.

Jeff
