Baan version: BaaN IV

Dear all,

We are trying to setup a warehouse (mainly used to supply production orders) that is Nettable, use DRP to replenish that warehouse and also have the system plan for some level safety stock in that warehouse.

I understand that warehouse of type WIP and Nettable will allow us to use DRP to replenish WIP warehouse from the main warehouse.

But, if we maintain min/max quantities by Item/warehouse (for the WIP warehouse), though DRP generates a DRP RPL order, MRP does not generate any recommendations (MRP purchase orders for example) if there is a shortage of inventory in the main warehouse because WIP warehouse being Nettable.

Any ideas how we can maintain a safety stock in WIP warehouse?

Appreciate any advice/recommendations.

Thanks
NS

You need to make the WIP warehouse as non-nettable. Also unless the planned production orders are printed and released, their allocation does not shift to the WIP warehouse (from default warehouse as mentioned in the BOM).

Thanks for response.

Unfortunately, making the WIP warehouse non-nettable is not an option at this point.
