Added few fields in EDI and tried to generate the message. System gave the error that "Start position 0 (zero) not allowed ". What is significance of Start position when i modify the set up? What has to be the length?

look at your existing mapping, all fields in your edi definition should have start positions. look for a position that is not currently being used, or you can continue at the end of the definition. you can leave length at 0.
