I have proceed the warehouse order until shipment line created. (before confirm)

Now I want to cancel the sales order due to some reason.

I modify the shipped qty in shipment line to 0 and confirmed it, then I delete the outbound created.

When I go to check the item's inventory, the qty STAGED still allocated in my stock point there.
How to release the STAGED qty?

make sure theres no more unconfirmed shipment for the item in the warehouse.
try to use (specific -move to location) move it to other location .

Check for Internal Movement of Material

In Baan V, you can just transfer back the inventory to your desire location.

Not sure if this is the same in LN.

Go back to the Shipment line where you did the zero shipment and then go to the Specific Menu and do the "Retrun Not Shipped Goods" to transfer the inventory from Staging back to a Bulk/Pick Location.

May I know if this is for LN only. I couldn't find this in Baan V.

I don't know about Baan V but it is a feature of LN FP3.

Return not shipped goods is indeed only applicable in LN.

Note: as of FP3 it is possible to determine until which stage outbound order lines can be cancelled. On the detail tab of the "Warehouse Order Type"(whinh0620m000) session you can use the option "Allow Cancelling upto and including".
