Has anybody tried Purchase Order blocking based on some date ? Let me explain the scenario.
In Baan IVb4, we cannot raise PO for a subcontracting item. But in Service module we actually purchase services of sub-contractors in the form of Labour & services. So we raise POs of such services by creating a Cost item and then use the GL codes to do the accounting correctly. We then include the corresponding sub-contracting item in the service module to collect the respective costs.
In the above case, since the Supplier is a sub-contractor, he needs to be compliant with EH&S (Environment Health and Safety) standards before we can raise the PO. The Goverment regulations issue the EH&S certificate until a given date.
Now if we are to raise a PO against that supplier and if his certificate has expired, we want the system to block the PO creation.
And we want this functionality to be included for PI (Purchase Inquiries) creation as well.
Any ideas / workarounds ?
Regards
