Can anybody tell me, what is significance of segment sets in purchase Scheduling? How it affect scheduling?

Segment sets consist of segments.
In a segment you determine the period length if I remember well and the level of grouping (hour/day/week/month).

The segment set is used to generate a purchase release from a purchase schedule. In the purchase release the different requirements are grouped per day / week or month.
