Dear All,
We have a problem when we create conversion factor for an item with unit that have the same Phisical Quantity.
We have Base Unit "cc" (as inventory unit) with phisical Quantity "Volume" and we want convert it to "Ltr" unit, that have the same phisical Quantity. But when we did it, there is message " Define Conversion Factor on General Level" (see attachment).
Help me :
a. What is the meaning of this message ?
b. What should we do , so we can do conversion between two unit?

Hi,
Meaning of message is that the conversion factor must be set between the units==> item must not be filled
The conversion between liters and cc (cubic centimeter I presume?) is the same for all items using cc as base unit. No need to define it by item.

OK Thanks,
But we have problem when we convert to large quantity.
We have unit "con",that have phisical quantity "piece". we will convert it to "Ltr" unit, which have phisical quantity "volume". it conversion is :
1 con= 20000 Ltr.
We have base unit for this item "cc", which have phisical quantity "volume".conversion from "cc" to "Ltr" is:
1 Ltr=1000 cc.
So, what should we do to make conversion between base unit "cc" to "con" directly, because when we tried it, there is message "conversion factor not allowed".
we enter in session conversion factor :
2 x 10^7
please help me,what shoul we do ?

Hi,
Hi,
this seems a very big conversion factor. See in the help if they talk about limit. I think that the limit is 10^6 (6 decimals) and you are above.
Don't forget that you have a conversion factor con ==> CC = 10^7 but also the reverse
cc==>con =10^-7
this is probably the problem.
For such item I should use the base unit to liters and not cc

Ok Thanks,
Can we define base unit specific to item ?
i think we can define specific item to it inventory unit, is not base ubit.
if we ever did transaction for it item on "cc" unit, can we change it again ?

Hi,
As far as I remember you can change the storage unit for an item if there are no stock, no order to receive, and no allocated quantity.
